Encore & Adore was founded by Sarah McKenzie-McHarg, a Melbourne businesswoman and mother of two, whose lifelong appreciation for timeless designer fashion inspired the creation of a boutique dedicated to giving beautiful designer garments a second life.
After more than 12 years as the owner of successful Pilates studios in Melbourne's inner-city suburbs, Sarah had built a carefully curated wardrobe of elegant, feminine designer pieces. Like many women, she found herself with beautiful garments that had been worn only once or twice for a special occasion—or, in some cases, never at all, with the original tags still attached. Rather than allowing these treasured pieces to remain unworn, she recognised an opportunity to help them be enjoyed again by someone new.
As her passion for fashion evolved, so too did her appreciation for the importance of conscious consumption. Sarah believes that investing in pre-loved designer fashion is about more than exceptional style—it's about making thoughtful choices that extend the life of beautifully crafted garments, reduce unnecessary waste, and contribute to a more sustainable, circular fashion industry.
